With the recent merger of Redland High School for Girls with Red Maids, two portraits that had been permanently loaned by the church to the school were returned to us over the summer. They are paintings of John and Martha Cossins, who built both Redland Court (the former site of Redland High School) and Redland Chapel. The paintings are not appropriate either for the church or the church hall, so the PCC resolved that they should be auctioned to raise funds for re:new.
They will be auctioned on 28 November by Dreweatts in Newbury. Please do pass on this information to anyone who might be interested – there is a link here.
