Elevate is our Tuesday evening youth club for Years 6 – 8 (ages 10-13). It takes place from 6 to 7.30pm on Tuesdays in term time in the church halls.
Usually the evening is split into three: free time, game time and reflection time. Free time involves a range of activities such as sports (eg football and table tennis), board games (eg Jungle Speed and Dobble) and some kind of creative activity like being/cake decorating, as well as the chance chat with friends. Game time is always prepared by the team beforehand and might involve getting a bit wet or messy! The reflection time is led by a leader on topics relevant to the young people and may involve watching video clips, sharing stories and Q&A sessions.
Impact is our Sunday morning group for Years 7 & 8. It meets in the upstairs in the church halls at the same time as Morning Worship (10 – 11.30am) except on Family Service Sundays (first Sunday of the month).
Impact offers a relaxed and creative environment for young people to pursue their relationship with Jesus through fellowship with other believers and exploration of the Bible. A typical morning at Impact involves sharing with each other, learning together (using Bible passages, video clips and Q&A sessions), praying for others and a time of worship. And there are always fun games and loads of chatter in between. We find creative ways to worship using music, singing, reading, drawing and modelling. Our aim is to encourage the young people to discover Jesus for themselves so that they can continue to engage with Him on their own.
CYFA is our group for young people in school years 9 – 13. We meet together on Sunday evenings at 5.45pm starting with toasties and on alternate Monday evenings for Cell Groups. Our sessions look different from week to week; we try to use a variety of media to help us learn more about living as Christians in today’s world.
CYFA members are involved in serving in many ways within the life of the church, including leading worship at Ignite, helping with Sunday School, organising a Christmas Café and being at the heart of our Chat-a-Box holiday club team. In recent years, members of CYFA helped run ‘Holiday at Home’ for seniors in our community.
We also go on a regular mission trip – recently, teams have visited Tanzania, Thailand and South Africa. These trips are a fantastic opportunity to see God at work in different cultures, to learn to serve, and to connect with Redland mission partners around the world.
