Our Family Service is our most relaxed/informal service. It takes place in our church halls and is aimed at the whole family, from the very youngest to the very oldest. It’s a 45-minute service with lively songs, drama and a short talk. There is a room available for babies and very small children if it all gets too much and the service is followed by refreshments.
Also on the first Sunday, we have a Holy Communion service in church at 11.15am. This is perhaps the most traditional service of the month. The music is mostly organ-led and the service has a more reflective and quieter feel than our other morning services.
Our normal pattern is for all ages to gather in church at 10.00am. Our aim is for the service to be relaxed and friendly, using variety of styles and media we come into the presence of God.
After about 15 minutes, the children and young people leave for their own activities, with groups for children from 3 to 13. During the rebuilding of our church halls, we are using two rooms in the remaining part of the building and the ground floor of the Vicarage (which is next door to the church halls) for these activities. And then we meet up again for coffee after the service in the church halls. Once a month the service includes communion. There is also a crèche available on the Vicarage site during the service for babies and under-3s.
Following our morning services members of our prayer team are available to anyone who would value the opportunity to talk and pray over matters of personal concern.
