In addition to his role at Redland, Rod is the Area Dean of the City Deanery and is also involved in training clergy across the southern region and an associate faculty member of Trinity College.
He and Beth have three adult children. Rod has been a Chelsea supporter since his first visit to Stamford Bridge at the age of 10.
Steven joined the Redland staff team in September 2015, having previously served as Curate and then Associate Vicar at the curiously-named St Michael’s Without in Bath. Steven is passionate about living as a disciple of Christ in the workplace and he combines ministry with being a professional musician, writing music for films and TV programmes and also setting Psalms to music (see his website for more details.) Steven and his wife Penny, who coincidentally was a member of Redland in her teenage years, have three adult children.
Lucy first came to Bristol as a student and then trained as an RE teacher and taught at a secondary school on the outskirts of the city. During that time she lived in Barton Hill and became a trustee of Crisis Centre Ministries.
She trained for ordination in Cambridge and joined us at Redland in July 2015. She is passionate about engaging with young adults.
She retired from General Practice in 2009, and was licensed as a lay minister in 2010. She is passionate about mission in its broadest sense, and about the church’s involvement with the community.
Steve joined the staff team in the autumn of 2014 and is particularly involved in overseeing the provision of pastoral care within the church. He is originally from South Africa, where he became a Christian in his teens through the ministry of Scripture Union. He trained as a teacher of Art and Religious Studies and most recently taught at Colston’s School for 19 years. He is married to Jan (née Smith) who worshipped at Redland for many years before their marriage.
Fran did a Fine Art Degree at Falmouth followed by an artist-in-resident post at a girls’ school. She spent the year after that as a Youth Intern at Christ Church Chorleywood before coming to join our youth team in September 2015.
She is responsible for our work with teenagers and is also a member of the Redland Education Centre team.
She and Terry met and married at Redland when they each came to Bristol for work: they now have an extended family to keep up with. Gill also enjoys singing at church and in a local choir, gardening and creating stained glass artwork.

Laura grew up in the West Country but first came to live in Bristol as an MA student and settled in Redland before meeting her husband here and then moving to North Bristol with their young daughter a couple of years ago. She is interested in medieval history, music, languages and baking, and enjoys doing messy art projects with her toddler.
Kate and her family have been members of Redland for around 15 years. She offers Tuesday and Thursday mornings, plus occasional holiday cover, to support Gill in the church office.
Wendy looks after all the day-to-day work associated with our finances and accounts. She generally comes into the office on a Wednesday morning.
